beautiful morning. beautiful day. beautiful you.

how has the world's definition of beauty ever jaded you?
(thanks for that loaded question,mandy!)
i'm going to step out on a limb here and say that most women would probaby say something relating to how they view their bodies. i know do. i'm still working to overcome that. it's easy to be sucked in to thinking that you have to be stick skinny with an outstanding bone structure to be loved and accepted. that's not the truth. the truth is, that the people who look like that are in the minority. you are beautiful just the way you are. if you want to lose 10 pounds (or even 100) good for you! go for it! but do it because it's something you want to do to feel better about yourself, not because you're trying to fit into a super model mold.

there is this song called "more beautiful you"-by johnny diaz that i absolutley love. listen to what johnny has to say about why he wrote this song, and then listen to it. you'll be blessed.

you are beautiful,

  1. I Love this song, and what a great post! The lies are starting, at a young age too, My first grader has already mentioned that when she gets older, what if she doesnt look like the really pretty girls, on tv. WHAT!! how can this be happening! She is 10 times more lovely than the sack of bones on tv, and I let her know that. We need to pray for our daughters constantly, just to drown out what the world is telling them daily~
    Thanks for posting!

  2. What a great post! I really like that song and that message -- thanks for sharing it! :)

  3. Good post friend! And might I add that most skinny women usually wish they could gain a few pounds...I speak from experience. We ALL struggle with body image! Even us "sticks" (although I don't have to worry about that anymore thanks to Zoe!)

  4. You are so right! I loved every word.
And that song.....! It gives me chills everytime I hear it!
glad to be a new follower!
