monkey business

you know those muffins i was going to make last night? well, they never happened. it's a good thing, because they were from a box anyway. *gasp* i know. sometimes i cheat. they are never as good, but well, convenience has it's price. i was sitting on the couch with my feet up when mystery told me that monkey bread sounded good. now, i know this is the start of the new year and everyone is trying to diet. Monkey bread is NOT a diet food! it's butter and sugar and biscutey goodness! that's why i've made monkey muffins. hello, PORTION CONTROL! (i'm trying to help you reach your goals and not deprive you of tasty yum yums!)

what you'll need:
3 small cans of refrigerated biscuts
sugar
butter
cinnamon
1-14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
2-12ct muffin pans
self control!

cut your biscuts into quarters
put some butter in each muffin tin. (1/2 tsp)
add about 1 tsp of sugar
sprinkle some cinnamon on top
take your dough and add 4-5 pieces to each tin. put some more butter on top!
top with 1/2 tsp of sugar and another sprinkle of cinnamon. then pop them into a 375 degree oven until they are golden around the edges and the butter is bubbling. about 12 minutes.
get out the good stuff now! yes, i use the store brand. it's because my momma raised me right. i'm thrifty. you could use the fat free version of this, if it makes you feel better. (also, don't mind the sugar all over my table. i get wild when i bake)
drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over each muffin. let it sit a few minutes to cool and soak in the yumminess.
scoop out the muffin and devour. have as many, or as few as you want! and please, if you are single, don't eat all of these yourself. that may cause you to have to deal with different muffins. the ones that pop up over your low rise jeans. (hey, i'm just keeping it real!) give some to your friends. or your family. or your dog.

living on the edge,
-k
