turning 25

i turned 25 today. yep. it isn't awful. in fact, it's great!

i wen to the DMV (again) this morning in an attempt to renew my drivers lisence. when i was there last week, my name that they had on file in their system didn't match up with social security, so i was told to come back with proof that my legal last name was in fact "Matthew" and not "Jacobs" (eles i could renew my lisence in my maiden name). no biggie. i asked if my marriage lisence and social security card bearing my married name would be enough. i was assured it would be.
upon arriving there are "taking a number" we waited...and waited....and waited some more. when our number was fianlly called, i mozied up to the counter and stated my business. the lady i dealt with this time was super nice, and in her attempt to help me, had to call field support. "blah blah blah, your name still doesn't match with social security, even though your name on your card clearly displays your married name...so we'll need you to go to the social security office and have them write a letter stating that your name is actually 'matthew'." i was like, "are you kidding me?" i tried to keep my cool. i really did, but by this time, we'd been at the DMV well over an hour, and i was beginning to suspect that the state of michigan gets some perverse enjoyment out of situations like this. i left there frustrated (to say the least)

mike and i left and jetted over to mama trish's to retrieve the youngins.

she made me a chocolate pie! YUM!

we then went home and cheryl (mikes sister) came over to watch the kids so we could go out to lunch and browse some antique shops for my birthday. whilst we were out (whilst is my favorite new word by the way!) we had no less than 4 people ask us is jackson was a "real" baby. goes to show you he really is picture perfect.
next we went to the chocolatea company where michael let me sniff, sample, and buy loose leaf tea to my hearts content.
i replenished my stash with my favorites and a few new ones.

(my new stash!! 7 teas!)

i also got a new tea cup and saucer. of course i couldnt leave without some honey sticks! (regular and peach)

michael picked out this gift set for me. i LOVE "mexican cocoa"

tonight i'm going to snuggle down on the couch with jack and a good book, and probably brew a cup of  "Ice Wine" tea. sounds like a perfect ending to a perfect day.

love y'all!
