please excuse my tardiness in getting my easter post out. we've been battling "the crud" that is going around. that, and it's been raining non stop since monday, which makes me want to do nothing except cuddle my sweet babies.
we snapped a photo out on the deck before heading to church.
after church we headed to michael's uncle's house for Easter dinner with Michael's family. after eating a super YUMMY dinner, we hid the kids' easter baskets. hiding the baskets is a tradition in michael's famliy. (his grandma also makes/made each of the grandkids an easter basket until they graduate high school or turn 18) this was totally bizarre to me the first easter i spent with his family because we stopped getting easter baskets when i was like 11.
we combine Isaiah and Eleanor's easter baskets. they're going to play with each others toys anyway, so it works out. that, and it's less work for us. also, their easter basket is a laundry basket. awesome, right? so i am gaurenteed one new laundry basket each year! yeah!
(the basket full of mini bags of chips, easter candy, coloring books, granola bars, stickers, coloring books, crayons, barbie dolls, veggie tales...)
isaiah loved his foam sword and his mario candy the best. have i mentioned that our kids are obsessed with mario and luigi?
eleanor loved her necklaces and bracelets from gramma jan. and also the little tub of cotton candy.
by the end of the day, the kids were tuckered out from all of the activity and lack of naps. so home we went. we put the kids to bed half an hour early and then i dug out my heating pad and curled up on the couch with the kindle to do a little reading.
well, i'm off to partake in a glamourous aspect of motherhood. putting the three loads of laundry (that i finally got around to folding) away that have been sitting around my livingroom for a few days.
